Lookup/Reference Functions

Below listed are the various lookup / reference functions of Microsoft Excel 2007.

Address():

The ADDRESS function returns the text representation of a cell address with the given row and column numbers.

Areas():

The AREAS function returns the number of areas from the given reference.

Choose():

The CHOOSE function returns a value from the available value list on the basis of given value.

COLUMN():

The COLUMN function returns the column number of the given reference.

COLUMNS():

The COLUMNS function returns the number of columns in a cell reference.

Hlookup():

TThe HLOOKUP function returns an item in a row and reproduces the same item in the column from the row of the table mentioned by the user.

Hyperlink():

The HYPERLINK function returns the shortcut information which opens the saved document in the internet or in the local communications network.

Index():

INDEX function picks a particular value from a range of data based on the row & column number specified.

Indirect():

The INDIRECT function returns the source indicated by the text characters or series.

Lookup():

LOOKUP function looks for specific information from a list and returns a related item.

Match():

MATCH function shows the position of an item in a list.

Offset():

The OFFSET function returns the reference to a range, which is a specified number of rows and columns from another range or cell.

ROW():

The ROW function returns the row number of a cell reference.

ROWS():

The ROWS function returns the number of rows in a cell reference or array.

Transpose():

The TRANSPOSE function converts the vertical cell series as horizontal cell series.

Vlookup():

The VLOOKUP function explores an item in the given column and replicates that item in the row from another column of the table mentioned by the user.
