What is For loop function in Perl programming?
|
|
Explanation |
|
The For loop function in Perl is to repeat a set of statements based on the given conditions.
Syntax:
for (initial value; test value; increment value )
{
Statement to be executed
}
In the above syntax "initial value" is the starting value, "test value" specifies the test condition,
"increment value" specifies the increment value based on which a set of code is executed.
Example:
#! C:\programfiles\perl\bin\perl
print "content-type: text/html\n\n";
for($row = 1; $row < 4; $row++)
{
print "This is line $row.";
}
Result:
This is line 1.This is line 2.This is line 3.
In the above example the a number range from 1 to 3 is printed, by incrementing value by 1 using the
for loop with a print statement.
