How is "float" datatype used in C++?.
|
|
Explanation |
|
The "float" data type is used to represent floating point numbers. The range of values for the "float" datatype is between +/-3.4e38 to +/-3.4e38. Usually floating point numbers have decimal places.
Example:
#include <iostream.h>
void main()
{
float rad=2;
float pi= 3.14159;
float area=pi *rad *rad;
cout << "Radius of the circle is:"<< rad << '\n';
cout << "Area of the circle is:"<< area <<'\n';
}
|
Result:
Radius of the circle is:2
Area of the circle is:12.5664
In the above data type example, the value of "pi" is a floating point number. Also the the value for area of the circle is a floating point number.
