Very large animal found in africa. Hippos average 3.5 meters (11ft) long, 1.5 meters (5ft) tall at the shoulder, and weigh from 1,500kg to 3,200kg. Found in shallow water, and rarely out of that depth. Hippos meaning "horse" and potamos meaning "river" - \'river horses\'.
